Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Doo Wop (XDiv)

Doo-wop é um estilo musical vocal baseado no rhythm and blues. O ritmo surgiu inicialmente na comunidade negra norte-americana nas ruas de New York, Philadelphia e Baltimore. Se tornou popular nos Estados Unidos durante a década de 1950.

O ritmo é caracterizado por um backing vocal harmonioso e suave - que muitas vezes os cantores faziam com a boca imitando os próprios instrumentos musicais e que repete freqüentemente as sílabas “doo-wop”.

Nos grupos vocais, cada cantor executava uma parte diferente da canção. Como não tinham dinheiro para comprar instrumentos musicais, a maior parte dos grupos desse estilo começou cantando só à capela - a “parte cantada” de cada canção.

O Doo Wop começou a perder espaço no início dos anos 60, com a ascensão do rock and roll - especialmente da Invasão Britânica. E entrou em declínio no início dos anos 1970, mas eu ainda me mantenho firme e forte .. curtindo os agora clássicos !!
